Ringo Starr: Postcards From the Boys (2004)

Dette skjer ikkje så ofte. Eg sveipa innom Amazon, og sidan eg tidlegare har kjøpt bøker om Beatles der, fekk eg tips om denne. Prisen var det ingenting å seia på - fint brukt, ein pence. Etter å ha lese boka er eg usikker på om ho var verdt prisen. Og det er før eg reknar inn portoen.

It does exactly what it says on the tin. Boka inneheld 51 postkort, trykt med både fram- og bakside, som dei tre andre Beatlane sende til Ringo. Mange av korta fortel ingenting, det kan vera korte meldingar av typen "wish you were here", eller berre svadaord. Nokre gonger fortel teksten på korta ein historie, andre gonger kan det vera presise meldingar som "you are the greatest drummer in the world". Ringo har skrive korte tekstar til alle korta, av og til vert ein klokare av dei, av og til ikkje.

Baksideteksten omtalar boka som "A sensational collection of 51 postcards from John, Paul and George". Det mest sensasjonelle er vel at nokon gav dei ut i bokform. Og at nokon kjøpte dei.
